Abstract

All fakta

SUMMARY

This study is about an illness in the horse hoof called White line disease. There is no correct
Swedish name, why we use the English name.
It is believed that this illness came from horses in the U.S.A. It's very common in Sweden
since the late 1990.
It is known that organisms are causing this illness. Tests show that there are 50% bacterium
and 50% fungus involved.
No one knows much about the illness, which is a big problem. For example, there are various
opinions about which treatment that are the best. Furthermore, some believe that the disease
has a connection to what one feeds the horses. And other believe that the disease is caused
just by organisms.
There are a lot of people working and researching about this illness. In order to get more
information, I phoned some of them, veterinary, blacksmith and people who have horses with
this illness.
There are still many question marks before we know enough about White line disease.
