This is a landscape character assessment of the landscape surrounding the suggested part of the Linnaean excursion path, Herbationes Danensis. It is situated between the two Linnaean heritage sites Linnés Hammarby and Funbo Lövsta south of Uppsala. This assessment is going to work as a support for planning projects in the area. It also gives suggestions about how to protect and develop the landscape. The assessments discuss the experience values and the development of the landscape. The focus lies on the 18th century and the connection to Linnaeus. The method is developed with inspiration from several books about landscape character assessments. The method is a mix of literature studies, visiting archives, analyses of maps and field studies. The landscape is analysed in three scales, the landscape, the village and the place. The landscape scale analyses a large area in a general scale, as a totality an experienced from the path. The big values are the unspoiled landscape, the large scale and the closeness to the city. The openness makes the landscape vulnerable to exploitation. How the path is experienced is due to the access to service and information. Measures to increase the experience values are to arrange places to sit and to sow weeds in the fields. The village scale is an analyse of the village Funbo Lövsta. The owner of the village was a close friend of Linnaeus and the place has a long continuity as an important place for farming and research about farming. This gives the owner today, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, an unique opportunity to develop the site as an Linnaean heritage with focus on science. The place scale analyse the park at the mansion at Funbo Lövsta. In the 18th century the park was the largest economical- botanical garden in Sweden. It was one of the sites Linnaeus used to visit on his excursions. In the 19th century the park was rebuilt after a proposition made by the Swedish garden architect Knut Forsberg. Today the park has several values like historical objects and nice surroundings.
